Cyd Charisse Fulton is a graduate of New York University and a Beyond The Bars Fellow from Columbia University. She is founder and editor of Emphat!c Press.

A Pushcart Prize nominee, her work is featured in several publications, literary journals and she has two chapbooks; “Feeding Off Of The North Star” and “Emphatic Radical.” Her poetry manuscript “Equitable Rage” was read at “Fierce” co-sponsored by the National Park Service and aaduna.org and convened at the National Women’s Rights Historical Park in Seneca Falls, NY. Cyd produced and directed “Amiri Baraka: Black Love” presented at the NYU Gallatin, Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts. Her poem “Rest Is Power,” was featured in “REST IS POWER,” an exhibition curated by the Center for Black Visual Culture at NYU and she is the casting director for the play “TIERS” by two-time Tony Award nominee Reg E. Gaines.
